Slack

Connect a Slack workspace so CoreValue notifications can post to your channels.

CoreValue posts to Slack through one connection per organisation. You connect it once on Notifications → Slack; each kind of notification then picks its own channels where it is configured.

Connect Slack

Start the connection

Click Connect Slack. Slack opens and asks you to approve the CoreValue app for your workspace. The app asks to see your public and private channel lists and to post messages, including to public channels it has not joined.

Approve

Choose the workspace and click Allow. Slack returns you to the CoreValue dashboard.

Check

Go back to Notifications → Slack. It now reads Connected to your Slack workspace.

If the tab says Slack is not configured on this deployment., the CoreValue installation you are using has no Slack app set up.

Private channels

The app can post to public channels without joining them. For a private channel, invite the app first: mention @CoreValue in the channel and accept Slack's prompt to add it.

What posts to Slack

NotificationWhere you choose channelsToday
Scheduled reportsReports → Scheduled reports → Slack ChannelsChannels can be chosen, but the weekly summary is not sent yet.
Budget alerts, including margin and velocity alertsNot in the console yetAlerts post to Slack only where Slack channels have been set up for budget alerts; otherwise they go by email.

Use a dedicated channel for budget notifications, so they do not get lost among other traffic.

Change or remove the connection

The console has no button to disconnect Slack or switch it to another workspace. To stop CoreValue posting, remove the app from your workspace in Slack's app management settings; Slack then stops accepting its messages, although the tab here still reads Connected.
